About This Quote
The saying, "do not seek to follow in the footsteps of the wise," is often misquoted. This quote does not mean that we should not seek to emulate the wise. Instead, it means that we should not always try to be like them. When we try to be like them we become just like them.
We become their followers and lose our own identity. Instead, we should pick and choose what we want to do and what we want to be.
